Bar D Stables is the Home to the Ball State Western Equestrian Team.

Located in Hartford City, the barn is average size with a 60 by 60 indoor arena.

East on McGalliard until you get to Broadway Ave.  Turn left at the traffic light and follow the road through two more traffic lights.  At the second light, you will want to turn/merge left.  Go over a set of railroad tracks and then you will come to a four way stop.  Continue going straight through the stop.  Merge onto State Road 3; take SR 3 North through Rayerton and past SR 28.  A couple of miles down the road you will pass through a yellow blinking light continue into Blackford County.  Turn right on 300 S.  Take 300 S east for 5 miles to 500 E.  At 500 E turn left and travel on this road for about ½ mile.  The barn will be on your right.  The barn is brown and marked by a Bar D Stables sign.




 




Black Dog Farms is the home of the Ball State Hunt Seat (English) Equestrian Team along with the Taylor University Equestrian Club.  Black Dog Farms is an 85 acre equestrian complex located in Grant County.  Black Dog offers an 80 by 250 out door riding arena along with a heated 60 by 200 indoor riding arena.  The 25 stall facility houses 10 to 15 school horses for riders of all levels and are shared by Ball State and Taylor University for their equestrian activities.  In partnership with Black dog Farms, Ball State andTaylor University host 4 of the 10 IHSA shows each academic year

In addition to the intercollegiate activities, Black Dog is home to many working high level show horses.  The working facility offers lessons and private boarding.  If that is not enough, Black Dog also partners with Paddock View Residential Center to provide Equine Assisted Psychotherapy.  

I-69 North to SR 218 exit.  Left (East) on 218 to SR 9 (Flashing Light).  Left (South) on SR 9 to 550 N (Arbor Trace Golf course).  Left (East) on 550 N about 1 mile.  Farm is located on the right side.
