The Ball State Equestrian Team is a Sports Recreation Club/Team. It is not a Varsity Sport. The team is made up of two forms or disciplines of riding. Western Horsemanship and Hunt Seat (English) Equitation. The purpose of the Ball State Equestrian Team is to give the students of Ball State University the opportunity to ride and learn about horses through educational opportunities and riding lessons on horses provided by BSET. Students are also given the opportunity to participate in Horse Shows through the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA). The IHSA is
a national association which gives college students the opportunity to compete in classes with other students of the same level or ability from colleges all across the country. The club is composed of non-riding and riding members. We have a monthly meeting to distribute club information and talk about lessons, shows, club business, etc. The club tries to create an atmosphere centered on horses, friends, and good fun. It accommodates people who just love horses and want to be around them. Members range from beginners to established "A" rated horse show competitors.
